Divine Mercy Sunday is celebrated on the second Sunday of Easter (the Octave day of Easter) . This feast calls the Church to rejoice in the merciful love of God through Saint Faustina’s revelations and prayers.

We are invited to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet Novena starting on Good Friday in preparation to celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday. Additionally, “the soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion [on this feast] will obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment [plenary indulgence]” (Diary of Saint Faustina 699)“

The Ascension marks 40 days of Easter, celebrating Jesus’ ascent into Heaven after His resurrection. It is a Holy Day of obligation but it might be observed the following Sunday.

Easter Sunday celebrates the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, the foundation of the Christian faith and the ultimate triumph of life over death. The Church rejoices with festive Masses, joyful music, and the return of "Alleluia" after 40 days of Lent. It marks the beginning of the 50-day Easter season, a time of joy, renewal, and celebration of new life in Christ.
