What is Baptism?

The sacrament of baptism ushers us into the divine life, cleanses us from sin, and initiates us as members of the Catholic community. It is the foundation for sacramental life. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons and daughters of God.

How to Obtain Baptism?

To schedule a baptism, the completion of a Baptismal Class at St. Leonard and official documents must be submitted to the Parish Office. Godparents must be living in accordance with the Catholic Faith.

 

Requirement of Godparents

·         Baptism Certificate

·         Eucharist Certificate

·         Confirmation Certificate

·         Marriage Certificate

If the sponsor(s) do not meet the above qualifications the parents need to visit with the priest. Because of requirements it is good that the parents check with a priest before asking persons to be Godparents.

 

Enrollment

To register for the Baptismal Class as well as the ceremony a $60.00 fee is required after the submission of documents.
